IMCA.TV WINTER NATIONALS SET TO KICK OFF THE DIRT TRACK RACING YEAR FROM COCOPAH SPEEDWAY JANUARY 8-18, 2020

The 2019 racing schedule has kicked into full gear and events for the IMCA – International Motorsports Contest Association dot race tracks across the United States and Canada.

In 2020, the season kicks off in the desert at the Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Arizona with the announcement of the IMCA.TV Winter Nationals to be held January 8-18, 2020.

The return of the Winter Nationals will host IMCA Modifieds, Northern Sportmods, Stock Cars, and Hobby Stocks. “We felt it was important to start preparing this mega event now” stated Cocopah Speedway promoter Benji Lyons. “We want the Winter Nationals to be the official kick-off to the IMCA season and give the racers a breaks from the cold weather up north.”

Racing will be mixed in with days off to allow fans and teams the ability to enjoy the vast array of vacation options in Arizona and neighboring California. A number of special interest activities are being prepared around the event to make it a true winter racing destination.

The complete schedule is as follows: January 8 (Wednesday) Practice, January 9, 10, 11 (Thur, Fri, Sat) Racing, January 14 (Tuesday) Practice, January 16, 17, 18 (Thur, Fri, Sat) Racing. Modifieds will race for $1000-to-Win, $100-to-Start, Northern Sportmods $500-to-Win, $50-to-Start, Stock Cars $500-to-Win, $50-to-Start, and Hobby Stocks $400-to-Win, $40-to-Start. Each race night is a complete show. Points will be accumulated to crown a champion of the six night series with additional prizes and points fund to be announced.

The Cocopah Speedway is a fast semi banked three-eighths mile dirt/clay oval. Cocopah Speedway has a large 3700 seat capacity grand stand area with great views of the entire race track. The Cocopah Speedway is located between Yuma & Somerton Arizona on the Cocopah Indian Reservation.
