Hunter Marriott takes Night #1 checkers

With night#1 in the books for The 5th Annual IMCA Winter Nationals presented by The Alexander Auto Group. It was Brookfield, Missouri visitor Hunter Marriott taking the checkered flag after a a late race pass of race long leader Imperial,California’s Lance Mari. Mari started on the pole and pretty much had the field covered but Marriott was lurking and surging from his 3rd starting position he made the late race pass when Mari slid up slightly and Marriott took advantage and racing off with the win rounding out the top were Nebraska’s Justin Zeitner, Bakersfield’s Ethan Dotson and Kansas racer David Murray Jr.
In other racing action it was Bakersfield,California driver Wayne Dotson taking the Nothern Sport Mod main event over fellow Californians Gary Dutton, Levi Keifer, Garrett Jernagan and Fred Ryland filled out the top 5. In IMCA Stock Car action it was hometown ace Joey Essary who pulled into Budweiser victory lane making this two in a row for the Yuma racer following Essary to the checkers were Colorado’s Race Fisher,2015 Track Champion Manny Baldiviez, Wisconsin’s Greg Wickham and local racer Tommy Daffern. Taking the checkers in the Hobby Stocks it was Yuma’s Bob Horton who like Essary now has 2 in row for 2016 following to the finish was Canada long tow Scott Shaw, Yuma’s Jason Beshears, Brent Wofford and Aaron Norman finishing out you top 5.
Night#2 starts up Saturday night with gates opening at 5:00pm and racing starting at 7:00pm
