Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown Partners With Cometic Gasket, JE Pistons and K1 Technologies for $10,000 Points Fund
Inside Line Promotions – SOMERTON, Ariz. (Nov. 24, 2014) – Cocopah Speedway is thrilled to announce there will be a points fund for drivers competing in the inaugural Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.
Thanks to partnerships with Cometic Gasket, JE Pistons and K1 Technologies, the driver who earns the most combined points from the races – Jan. 2-3, Jan. 6 and Jan. 9-10 – will receive a $4,000 bonus with drivers finishing second through fifth each taking home an extra $1,500.
“We are very excited to have Cometic Gasket, JE Pistons and K1 Technologies on board to help with the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown,” Cocopah Speedway Director of Operations Greg Burgess said. “Those companies have a rich history in racing and it will be great to have them involved in this event, which we hope to build on year after year.”
The four weekend races – Jan. 2-3 and Jan. 9-10 – each pay $12,000 to win and $1,000 to start with the midweek race on Jan. 6 providing $5,000 to the winner.
“We knew we had a great purse for the five races, but we wanted to add a bonus,” Burgess said. “I’m happy that we can offer a points fund for the top five.”
A driver will earn points throughout heat races, qualifying races and main events during the five events. A competitor must attempt to race in all five Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown races to be eligible for the points fund.

The inaugural Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown will showcase the top sprint car drivers in the world in sunny Southwest Arizona during the first two weekends of January in 2015.
