Cocopah Speedway’s IMCA champs take care of business

It was billed as “Championship Weekend.”

A more appropriate title would have been “Taking Care of Business Weekend.”

That is exactly what three drivers did in three International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) divisions Friday and Saturday night at Cocopah Speedway, locking up the track titles on the last weekend of the national sanctioning body’s 2014 season.

Yuma’s Bobby Horton claimed the IMCA Modified crown with a combination of steady driving, determination and a little luck; Yuma’s Timmy Reese just plain ‘ol persevered on the way to winning the IMCA Sport Mod title; and Yuma’s Brent Wofford flat out drove away with the IMCA Hobby Stock trophy.
