Online Ticketing Now Available for Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown

Somerton, Arizona (May 8, 2014) – Tickets are now on sale for what promises to be one of the biggest sprint car races in the country. Online ticketing is now available for the inaugural Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown, coming January 2nd, 3rd, 6th and January 9th and 10th, 2015 at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Arizona. With a minimum of four nights of racing on the schedule, the event will be a showcase for the best 410 winged sprint car teams from across the country. With a unique format that puts racers through both a heat race and a qualifying race to set the features, fans are guaranteed numerous opportunities to see their favorite drivers and teams take to the track each night.

A number of nationally recognized teams have already commited to field cars in the event, including Tony Stewart Racing. Cocopah Speedway Director of Operations Greg Burgess said, “with the interest expressed so far, we’re extremely confident that race fans are going to be treated to four nights of racing with the absolute best of the best from across the country.”

There’s an additional bonus for fans purchasing tickets in advance online, as all advance purchases through December 1st, 2014 include a special fan pit pass good from 2pm to 5pm on each race day. Burgess said, “the ticket pricing for this event represents a tremendous value, given what fans would normally expect to pay for an event of this caliber.”

The Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown at Cocopah Speedway will pay $12,000 to win each night out of a total purse approaching a quarter of a million dollars. The series director is Tommy Estes, Jr., who has an extensive background in sprint car racing, and currently serves as promoter at Dodge City Raceway. Burgess said, “with Tommy on board and the rest of the dream team coming together, we want to build the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown into one of the biggest events in the sprint car racing world, a destination event for drivers and race fans alike.”
