Life back to ‘normal’ at Cocopah Speedway

I’m not sure we know what normal is anymore,” said Greg Burgess, Cocopah Speedway’s director of operations. “Or maybe I should say it’s been so long since things were normal. I’m not sure it even exists.”
The Somerton track is coming off two national racing programs that saw over 40 IMCA Modifieds and over 40 Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series winged sprint cars from across the country race for six nights.
That makes Saturday night’s Cocopah Speedway Racing Series show, the first since Jan. 18, a “normal” event in the eyes of many fans.
“I don’t know about that,” said Burgess. “We just had two events that everyone will agree were pretty exciting, but I believe our local racing series is just as exciting. If anyone doesn’t think so, come out one time, and after watching our Modifieds, Sport Mods, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks in action, if you aren’t hooked, then I don’t what else to say.
