Time to tune up, warm up at Cocopah Speedway

It’s tune-up weekend at Cocopah Speedway.
Translated, it means Saturday night’s racing program is the last chance for drivers planning on competing in the upcoming 2014 IMCA Winter Nationals to take their cars out, get a feel for the Somerton oval and make any necessary adjustments.
At the same time it’s also warm-up weekend.
Translated, it means this is the weekend when drivers from the icy, chilly Midwest begin arriving, first to thaw out and then like everyone else to also get a feel for the track before the Winter Nationals.
“This is a really fun time of the season, when we see drivers who made the long trip to get here last year start arriving,” said Greg Burgess, Cocopah Speedway’s director of operations. “It’s also fun to meet other drivers from the heartland who weren’t with us last year, but have heard about this track and want to see and experience for themselves what a great facility we have.”
